MRC201 MEDICAL RELATED CAREERS I (S1)

Grade Placement: 10, 11, 12………0.5 credit

This course is a prerequisite for Medical Related Careers II. Students must successfully complete both semesters of this class to meet the prerequisite.

This year long course provides students the information relating to the educational and professional requirements for the various medical related careers. Students will also study fundamentals of disease transmission and prevention, basic anatomy and physiology, and medical terminology. Students will complete CPR and First Aid.

MEDICAL RELATED CAREERS II - BLOCK (S1 or S2)

Grade Placement: 11, 12……….1 credit……….2 hr (block)

Prerequisite: Medical Related Careers I

Using community-based instruction, the student will experience medical careers by job shadowing professionals in selected fields of preference. Students 18 years or older may be required to have a background check per facility policy. Students have the option to take the National Exam for Nursing Assistants. WITH PRIOR PARENTAL APPROVAL, TRANSPORTATION TO TRAINING SITES IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE STUDENT.
