CTE 201 AVIATION I

Grade Placement: 10, 11, 12……….2 credits (Block Class) ……….Full year

Students will have an opportunity to earn college credits through the articulation process. Fees: $10.00 This course is designed for any sophomore, junior or senior who is interested in a career in aviation or aerospace. The syllabus provides a basic framework of training that includes flight planning, weather, regulations, aerodynamics, systems, airspace, communications, and human factors. Students will also study aviation careers and aviation history. This course will allow students the opportunity to take control of an actual aircraft in flight.

CTE381 AVIATION II

Grade Placement: 11, 12……….2 credits(Block Class)……….S1

Prerequisite: Aviation I

In Aviation II, students will work as a team to build a full scale aircraft. This project will be a large portion of the curriculum. Students will also create a plan to become a pilot, or enter a career in aviation. Students will be prepared to pass the FAA private pilot verbal exam at the completion of this course. We will study new advanced flight topics as well as topics covered in aviation I to an advanced level. Students will also participate in other activities such as mentoring other students.

CTE382 AVIATION II

Grade Placement: 11, 12………1 credits(Block Class)………S2

Prerequisite: Aviation I

In Aviation II, students will work as a team to build a full scale aircraft. This project will be a large portion of the curriculum. CTE331 DIGITAL DESIGN

Grade Placement: 10, 11, 12……….2 credits (Block Class) ……….Full Year

No prerequisite (Graphic Design recommended first)

Students will have an opportunity to earn college credits through the articulation process. Digital Design is a design class that lets students use computers to create images and files for yearbooks, animation, game designs, and newspapers. This course teaches you how to use PhotoShop, Illustrator, and InDesign CS3. You will learn the tricks and tips that the pros use. If you like to create artwork on a computer, this is the class for you. This class will help you take your artwork to the next level.
